Welcome to Science Lessons With Facebook. In today's episode: 'fire make wood go burny oh noooo.'
Like come on, you think after everything they've been through Merlin wouldn't take safety into extreme consideration? Even for GP that's pretty dumb.

Whatever the effect is, it better be impressive and reliable, otherwise they've really f*cked this up.

They are allowed
So is the path clear enough?
My custom togo progress.
They are allowed
i dont think supports are allowed on that path specifically at all though
I am made a NL2 version of my old NL1 Jamp Up Land!! I made a new custom text sign for jamp up land!
Jamp Up Land is a crowded park.
This is what is inside the "Dark Ride" building.
This is the kids swingset at the Naughty Palace.
This is the target shooting game.
This is the bowling alley.

Hmmmm..
"The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations mean you can’t mislead or harass consumers by, for example:
"Penalties
If you break the regulations, you could be reported to a local Trading Standards office. You could be fined, prosecuted or imprisoned."

So that's why I want to know if that's fine or not.
I guess they won't be using "a fire effect". If the figure will be constantly burning with either real or fake flames (and Backstage Technologies does them very well), that can lead to something pretty sectacular.
Wicker Man isn't even the first GCI to use a fire effect. Both Apocalypse and Wodan did it before.
Also Wicker Man cost about 16 million pounds. That's about 22 million USD, which is how much Lightning Rod cost.
Jozi Express - Gold Reef City ?
You are allowed to place footers on that path however they have to be easily and realistically maneuverable. Not sure if that counts as enough pedestrian-clearance though. Looks fine to me but I am not the one who makes the contest.
Are these supports allowed in the path?

Facebook seems to have a way higher percentage of GP commenters than YouTube.
^That's just grim.
Wicker Man is the UK’s first new wooden rollercoaster experience in 21 years and comes with a globally unique twist – bringing together wood and fire for the very first time.
I beg to disagree.

Loving how the Sun is describing the wickerman as a classic horror theme. On a family coaster. Why, merlin, why.
Definitely. Wodan also has Fire effects on the crest of the lifthill. They reinforced the wood with metal where the fire is, so it wouldn't catch on fire.
