Handbuilding Thread
NoLimits Coaster

i will make a detailed post on here in the future about how i go about hand building a coaster from scratch, its stupidly over-complicated and requires a bit of patience but you get some pretty great looking results. Great idea for a thread too, cant believe NLE never had one.

P.S Merry Christmas everyone!

Handbuilding Thread
NoLimits Coaster

I mostly built from the top view first. Then I move the vertices up and down to the shape I want.
One exception to this is vertical elements like loops, immelmans, etc. In those cases, I built vertically first and then offset the vertices along the axis I want. Then I rotate it into place.

I would like to know how other people hand-build. Maybe there's something I or others can do to improve my/their workflow?

I'd be pretty happy to see any new coaster style - RMC would be nice certainly, but also Vekoma Looper would be great. However, I'd also like some upgrades on existing styles at some point - for example, Vekoma Motorbike coasters lack a launch track spine which makes it pretty hard to accurately recreate one withoutlots of effort and support scenery.

Could we possibly see the new Vekoma trains seeing as they have been rendered for the Energylandia (in a similar to fashion to how we got the Vekoma Motorbike coaster) I wonder how much more work over what we saw in those videos would be required to get them to a releasable state. That would be a nice addition even if less requested than RMC.

Apollo 13 is a custom booster right though? It's definitely a different ride experience to the normal boosters we get in the UK.

The XXL disappointed me at Winter Wonderland (in comparison to the Infinity I rode in Germany). Still a great ride though. Aside from what Paradox mentioned as we both rode at the same time I love a good Huss Breakdance.

Oh yeah, a Capriolo is one intense ride. Irode it only once, but the upside-down rotation is as intense as it's visually thrilling. If I remember correctly, it's above -3g. The seat and harness is also way more confortable than a Fabbri Booster (while those are okayish).

One thing that fascinates me about some mostly modern transportable rides is how quickly these can be assembled almost automatically

KMG are really good for that. It's mesmerizing how it's done largely without cranes, and how everything get squeezed on a (or a bunch of) truck trailer.
