Found on the Alton Towers SW8 facebook reveal:

GP eh?
How long before the fire stops working?
EDIT: Also this is more of a gimmick than TH13TEEN... "the world's first rollercoaster experience fusing wood and fire" ffs
That's usually because in FVD++, you see forces as they would be from the center of gravity. Given any one single point on the track, the front car will usually be traveling at a different speed as it reaches that point than the center car or back car would be, leading to a difference in forces. (Think of how you hang over the top of a drop from a coaster's front car while you get whipped over it from the back car -- it's because the entire train travels at the speed that the center of gravity would be traveling regardless of any single car's position relative to each other.)
This is also part of the reason why there can be mild lateral forces on certain elements even without the addition of lateral Gs in FVD++. The seats are all offset from the center of gravity, in addition to being offset from the heartline. This can cause them to travel a path that creates laterals.
It's not really something that you "fix" (because FVD++ doesn't know how long your train is), but it is something that you can work around by keeping it in mind while making your ride.
"breath-taking scale",
"eager to ride again."
Yeah, I don't think they're very serious here.

I think I finally ended up with something that's not too bad.
But now I seem to be running into another issue. In FVD++, the g forces are different than what is actually happening in the simulator, even though all of my values between the two are the same. Help?
Kings Island
@Emonadeo, thank you! I'll be sure to use this to improve the shaping of my drop.
BLASÉ!
^ well that makes two of us. What’s KI though?
Looks like K'nex track turned on its side.
I like it! can't wait to this arrive somewhere.
That’s pretty neat marketing you got there Merlin...
Reminds me of Burning Man.
I'm heading to CP and KI the last week in May.
That looks good. I've used the quintic double bump function in the past but never thought to try it on a Stengel dive. You can really create some nice elements if you use them correctly. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
“We are delighted to finally be announcing Wicker Man as the latest ground-breaking thrill attraction from Alton Towers Resort for 2018."
Yep, AT at it again with marketing family coasters as "the next big thing". I think the ride will be just OK, fun for sure but can be criticized. But the marketing is worse than Thirteen...
WICKER MAN ANNOUNCED AS LATEST GROUND-BREAKING ROLLERCOASTER EXPERIENCE
Wicker Man is the UK’s first new wooden rollercoaster experience in 21 years and comes with a globally unique twist – bringing together wood and fire for the very first time. A Wicker Man structure standing at 57.57ft (17.55m) tall – the height of a six-storey building – will dominate the very centre of Alton Towers Resort, appearing to burst into flames as the wooden track races three separate times through the structure.

The project, previously known as ‘SW8’*, is the latest in a series of mould-breaking ride launches from the Staffordshire theme park that have helped define the industry. A world-class team of experts continue to work on the new attraction, led by Great Coasters International, the world’s leading creators of wooden rollercoasters. The safety of guests has been paramount in the design and build of Wicker Man, incorporating the latest in proven safety technology, rigorous testing and hundreds of training hours for ride operators.
Bradley Wynne, Creative Lead at Alton Towers Resort commented: “We are delighted to finally be announcing Wicker Man as the latest ground-breaking thrill attraction from Alton Towers Resort for 2018. Guests will be ‘chosen’ to take part in a celebratory ‘rite of passage’ as they race through the flaming Wicker Man.
“We hope visitors will be blown away by Wicker Man’s breath-taking scale whilst the primal essence of the wooden coaster and astonishing effects will leave them delighted, exhilarated and eager to ride again.”
Visitors to Alton Towers Resort in 2018 will embark on a multi-sensory rite of passage, in which they’ll be drawn into the mysterious world of The Beornen, a shadowy group living in the woods surrounding the theme park.
