My only real complaint about Lech is that it has OTSRs.

Fair point, I wish it didn't have those vests as well. BUT, those are nowhere near as bothering as the ones on old-gen Vekoma and B&M, and million of miles away from the Intamin lap-bar with straps atrocity on Fahrenheit. They are by far the "less worst" vest I tried, they are very loose and light.

@Olmisery: While I really like Taron, I think Lech is still doing better by giving a more diverse ride.

Yeah that looks pretty weird haha, but at least it's not 4-car trains on an MCBR-less hypercoaster with a freefall drop. :P (No hating on Kärnan though! It looks amazing and I understand that the short cars are so that it can use a vertical lift.) I like the fact that it partly self-duels; that should look really neat!

Just to clarify what I did and did not say:

I DID say that people complained about Lech looking like Vekoma set FVD to 3.5Gs.

I DID NOT say that this is my take on Lech. I’m a poor judge of positive forces, anyway.

I don’t know how the pros design coasters or what the force profiles really look like, but if locking turns on 3.5 and adjusting the banking isn’t something Intamin or B&M would do, I don’t think that’s how Vekoma does their designs, either.

My only real complaint about Lech is that it has OTSRs. I’ve experienced ejector airtime with those (Fahrenheit), and the effect is diminished. Given that Mack is flipping riders all over with just overheard lap bars, I don’t see the need for the vest restraints Vekoma does.

(Ditto for B&M OTSRs on their standard loopers, though they don’t do ejector air, and the B&M 7-looper style is kind of iconic.)

I just can't believe you find Lech Coaster to be bad. There is literally not a single flaw I could find with that ride, and the drop alone makes it better than most coasters, not to mention the intensity and airtime. And the flow is ridiculously good, very smooth, and as an overall the best I've experienced personally. To each their own, I suppose.

(also every review I'VE seen has been very positive, so idk where the idea of bad reviews comes from? Idk, I did some looking around myself)

EDIT: As someone whose been on the ride, I can only agree more with Paradox. Seriously like the only thing that tops it is Taron.

That may be true. Yet even if you've seen all good reviews, we all know not everyone liked it, to say that is to try to strengthen an argument with an untrue fact lol. Lech coaster to me brute forces past the finesse necessary to make a good ride...it just paces fast and throws a bunch of random elements and inversions and hills.

Also it may be fun, people may like it, but I still don't. Just my opinion lol, I think it's terribly ugly and I don't expect I would like the lack of finesse in forces and banking. It's just plain. I think your point that you like it because it feels like one big element is also perfectly valid. Just not for me, at least not in this way.

I've yet to read a review of someone who disliked one of them for the reasons you said.

About the pacing and the flow, this is the strong point of Lech. It's relentless but not overwhelming, it's fresh, it's surprising, and in the end, it's fun. I've yet to find another coaster that combines drops, inversions, ejectors, S-turns and helixes all in one layout. What is unusual is how the ride feels like one big element that flows very well, and not a sequence of elements like other rides, say Helix.
I rode Expedition GeForce again the other day, and while it's still an awesome ride, man its pacing aged. The middle part especially is lackluster.

Exactly as BigBad said. They look just like when you design something in FVD/Newton, set a positive force for 15 seconds, and edit banking in the hopes that it resembles something decent. It completely lacks finesse and ends up like random curves rather than well defined and thought-out shapes, flow, pacing, etc.

Yet everyone who rode one of those newer rides loved it, so is it that bad? No it's just a different design.
