360 video export?
NoLimits Coaster

postyork posted on January 19th, 2024

Hey!

I was wondering if anyone knew any details about the 360 video export in No Limits.

It's listed as 360 equirectangular in the settings.

Beyond that, I was wondering if this is a stereoscopic 3D or a monoscopic 2D? And if it's stereoscopic whether it's left-right or top-bottom?

Many thanks!

Here an screenshot of the video options (in the PRO version)

360 video export?
NoLimits Coaster

NoLimits 2 can record and export an equirectangular image that looks similar to this image:

This type of image is not 3D, instead it's a 360 spherical image arranged on flat image, which then requires a bit more processing to prepare for YouTube or other 360 video playback.

NoLimits 2 does support real time VR output, and can do 3D for TVs or Monitors enabled for 3D.

No Limits 2 and Meta quest 2

It works with any VR headset that can connect to a PC with Steam and SteamVR (either via wire or wireless). Any Quest (even Quest 1) can do so. Wired probably provides the best quality, but wireless is more convenient. They just recently a SteamVR app made for Quest (2 and on) making the connection even easier.

Here's instructions on doing it wired: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/set-up-link/

I can tell you that it does work with the quest 3 and you can navigate using the controls. I have not yet figured out how to do basic things like open the menu to change park, switch to ride view, pause, realign coaster, etc using the vr controllers.

I remember when, I remember
I remember when I lost my phone
There it was within my reach a phone so grand
But the coaster motions caused me to let go from my hand

That makes me crazy!

Can't text me
