The completed tutorial is now up. [...]
A little late to the party but I think the tutorial is very well written! I also did not thought about that this could be used for that purpose, a great idea!

^^Looks Pretty Sweet
^I was pretty sure it was one of the classic LIM coasters based on the cabinets. There was just absolutely nothing I saw to signify which one... I don't think it was a horrible picture as it did narrow down quite a bit what it was. My problem would be that there was nothing to uniquely point it to the exact ride as I suspect most of the old Premier spaghetti bowl LIMs have an identical room to house the launch motor power cabinets.
But that can be a common issue on this thread. Folks are so eager to supply a challenging picture that they provide one that contains no unique features to the ride. It might be a short segment of track and a connector that points to manufacturer, but it's just against a blue sky. And given that folks often manipulate colors (either go greyscale or shift them altogether) it can truly just be a random guessing game at that point. For example, a piece of track that is clearly from a B&M dive coaster Immelmann/dive loop and framed against a clear sky, but folks have to just start guessing dive coasters because there's nothing unique in the picture to signify which one. I personally like to see images that show enough track to narrow down manufacturer and then there is either something that is ride unique about the track or there is something in the background that is unique to the ride/park. Something not necessarily ride related like a structure in the background is always good as it's hard to figure out unless you are familiar with areas around rides.
And now I shall descend from my soap box so everyone can carry on with our fun little game.
You can tell it is a launch coaster because of how many cabinets there are. One for each motor.
Thanks. It would look even better if it sparked, lit up and went into temporal displacement..
Buuut, i don't know how to make that happen. And i'd rather avoid adding more work to the growing list of things i have to do, lol.
Speaking of, i'll also be cleaning up the station building and re-doing all the textures.
As it was some of my early work, the station building model had some small imperfections, and the textures can also be improved this time round.

I don't think a lot of people know their way around the T.C. Gen options. Would anybody be interested in a new materials tutorial about terrain-covering objects?
You have a wealth of knowledge of 3d modelling information.
Thanks for doing that tutorial, i've saved it for future reference. I'm sure it will come in handy sometime.
^ Thanks for this suggestion!
Instead of controlling the movement speed one now sets a duration value which can also be set to 0, it's also possible now to set the duration for moving forward and backward independently!
I think it's time for designing better object symbols now instead of having the instruction printed on them.
PS: I also added a station triggered version, this means the animation will start when a train enters a station, I'm not sure if I should keep it this way though.

Also, does anyone happen to have a link for Bye Tom's BT Paths v2?
Someone (not me) uploaded it to dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/16ku2iotjmgvmtr/BT Paths v2.zip?dl=0
It is technically against the rules, but it's Poltergeist. The only way someone would've been able to get it is if they were there. Someone else can go, you can try a new one if you want Harris. List of rules is on page one if you need refreshers.
Balder? No idea
Hints? More Info? There's no way to identify a coaster with that picture.

Is it Wildfire at Kolmarden?
You know there has to be track in the image right?
Kind of unorthodox one:

Thanks for the response guys. Good to see you here too Jake! It's about time I got my hands on NL2.
So change of plans, I decided to make my second coaster an Intamin mega-but-not-hyper coaster along the lines of EGF/Dutch Goliath, but more similar to the latter. It's turning out better than I was expecting. Nothing is completely done, but I'm mostly happy with the shaping and layout, though I'm always open to criticism. Ignore the prefab supports, those are only there for visualization/screwing around with the color scheme. Speaking of, I still need a name and color ideas, though I am happy with the latest paint job I came up with.
First drop:

Overall layout. I think I'm gonna put a lake or a river going through the middle of the layout, under the final helix.

Insert lake here:

Correct. You're up!
Dragon's Fury at Chessington?
short and sweet for you all
This one's probably super easy but
