So I was scrolling through my pictures of Lightning Run and I noticed something pretty hilarious.

See that little black & brown mark on the rail?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the car literally scraping the rail. Don't know if I have any more pictures of it, but I'm pretty sure there are other places on the ride with the same marks. Just found that funny, continue on.

I also agree with the textures especially inside the trench it's way to much tiling on the walls and also on the wood. By the way, I guess you all convinced me about the water falls. I think you could use some larger textures or create more variation on a larger texture atlas with some graphic editing software and also use some more geometry on the models to distribute the textures more randomly. I think the trench could have a little bit more geometry in general.

Hey there,

Long time no see! Some of you may remember me from the NLE forums. Thought I'd like to let you know I'm not dead and still working on what some of you might still know under the name: Red Five, a STAR WARS themed Intamin multilaunch coaster I'm already working on (and off) for about 2 years now. I brought this project back to the light of day a couple of weeks ago and it's coming together quite nicely, how i think. The project got a new name as well: REBELS RUN, since the Red Five thing didn't really work out how i wanted it to be in terms of storytelling. That's all for now, but watch out for more information and pictures in the near future. See you soon, and I'd love to hear what you think about what you see above,

CoasterDude.

If you are interested and willing to read my indoctrination about careful usage because of performance impact when massively used without taking care when you ask (maybe use a private message then) I can send you the link to this:

I think you really should release the waterfall, since I've used them in my last two projects I've had a few people asking me about them. Just warn people about performance (which being honest I don't think it's bad at all). It is a really awesome and useful object!

Now about the coaster, you seem to have really cool ideas, but you should improve your textures... They are really repetitive (or just using a different tiling). Other than that it looks great!

Thank you, the textures are hard to have a smooth and a high-resolution transition is a little more random. And the waterfalls are pretty good from the performence.

Daniel's NL2 Stuff - NEW: Convert Images to Objects!
Scripting

Another update:

Track Spline based animations are implemented now!

A rolling stones example! (yes, I also turned on the music now)

You just have to add a dummy coaster with the same name as your animated objects and the control objects that is close to the animated object. It will then pick up the coaster track and base every position movement on sliding down that track and yes, you can overlay all animations as before, even a position offset!
The setup in the Editor.

That looks really good so far, the only part that could get a little bit more attention though in my opinion are the two roofs of the big towers, at least at this state they are missing some important accents of the original ones I think.

Keep it up!

The Official Scripting Ask Thread
Scripting

How do I add a brake sound? I have an invisible brake segment but still want the brake sound there. What do I do to make the sound engage when a train passes?

I would like to add a trigger to have the sounds of brakes engage when a train reaches a certain point, but I don't even know where to begin. I can't begin to comprehend scripting (I am not a smart person), and the help files don't offer any details or suggestions. Is it as simple as adding a trigger and finding the brake sound and somehow putting that there? Or do I have to download files and try that?
