What does it take to get custom gates to open? I have a custom station and custom gates but would like to know how to make them open and close?

Does anybody know where I can find custom environments? I watched the tutorial video that Bossact7 made a while back and he had a link to one, but it doesn't work anymore. I am looking for a realistic custom environment with custom clouds, and lighting for a project that I am working on. I just don't know where to look for them. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm doing the supports for my new project in which I'm building a Intamin LSM launch coaster. I want the supports to look as realistic as possible but I'm doubting about which pipe size I should use, 16'' or 20''. does anyone know the standard pipe size Intamin uses?
In the first picture, I've used a pipe 16'', the second is made with a pipe 20''.
