Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop Recreation
The legendary Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop has thrilled riders for almost 50 years. A few models of this coaster exist today. Designed and engineered by Mr. Anton Schwarzkopf, this model brought innovations to modern launch coasters. These coasters reach a height of about 138ft and reach a top speed of 57 miles an hour! The train is hurdled through a vertical loop, up a 70 degree spike, and then does it all again going backwards! These coasters either used a massive weight to catapult the train down the launch track or used a flywheel to also launch the train!
Depicted here is Tidal Wave, which opened on 7/8/1977 at Marriot's Great America in Santa Clara, California. Tidal Wave used the weight drop launch method. It thrilled riders for 25 years before being removed and used for parts to repair other shuttle loops.
This can be customized to any shuttle loop, the footers can be adjusted, colors, and supports can be changed to whichever shuttle loop you'd want, although only with the box spine loop. Please use credit if you use it!!!
This coaster will also be featured in an upcoming recreation of a portion of Great America featuring Vortex in its 1991 appearance as well as the surrounding area of the park!
