In 2021, Top Thrill Dragster was decommissioned when it became aggravated and bit a small child. But Cedar Point couldn't bear to part with the record-breaking coaster, so they hired Zamperla to install a new launch system and other structural changes. The result? TTD was converted to a powered coaster with a gentler 12-mph launch and the top hat slightly shortened to 89 feet.
