Hey,

this is my second coaster. I know I am a bit late to the party, but I simply love Intamin's hydraulic launch coasters, so here is a version from me. So, the first shutout goes to TheCodeMaster for realising his hydraulic launch kit to make this possible. My coaster is obviously inspired by Kinda ka (Six Flags Great Adventure, USA) but it is a bit lower and slower than Kingda Ka to allow for a longer layout while keeping the price of the coaster somewhat reasonable and realistic (Ok, I admit its properly too expensive xD).

This time my main focus was on the control of the coaster. So, I scripted the coaster completely by myself and heavily modified the code of the hydraulic launch kit to make the coaster as realistic as possible. The launch sequence is coded to start when the catchcar is ready at starting position and the train ahead enters the final block-brake, but the launch-brakes are not released before the final block-brake is free again. The coaster features a random occurring rollback and a forced rollback (which can be activated via a control-panel by the player). After a rollback, the coaster automatically recovers itself. Also the emergency stop works in very situation (also affecting the catchcar of the launch) and the control is able to recover the coaster after the emergency stop is deactivated again. Furthermore, the coaster control will check the weather before every launch and will put the launch into a waiting state if the weather is too bad. You can see the state of the launch-section in the control panel (Shown at Block "BB Launch") and also the console will inform you all the time over the status of the coaster. Here you can also see the current and total capacity each time a train leaves the station (riders/hour). Additionally, the acceleration is not constant over the launch segment but roughly follows the acceleration profile from "Speed Monster" (TusenFryd, Norway) which I extracted from: A.-M. Pendrill, 2008 Phys. Educ. 43, 483 (https://physics.gu.se/LISEBERG/eng/pe8_5_003.pdf). Finally, the coaster also features a working elevator at the top-hat which is fully controllable by the player via a panel inside the elevator.

Stats:

Height: 116 m (380 feet)

Length: 1745 m (5725 feet)

Launch: 0 to 177 km/h (110 mph) in 3.2 s; Mean acceleration 1.6g; Max. peak acceleration 2.0g.

Infos about the Special Features:

  • Random Rollback: The default probability to have a rollback is 5%. If you want to change it, open the file "Queenda Ka/CoasterControl/CoasterControl.nlvm" and change the value at line 17. A value of 1.0 corresponds to 100% and 0.0 to 0%.

  • Forced Rollback: You can activate a forced rollback by using the panel next to the launch. You have to enable the panel with the key-switch and then you can turn the forced rollback on. As long this is on the coaster will always rollback so you can trap your guests from one train in an endless loop of rollbacks^^.

  • Elevator: At the top-hat you find an elevator which you can use to move up and down along the top-hat. To use it you have to enable the panel with the key-switch and then you can move up or down as you like, as long as the elevator door is closed. The elevator will stop automatically at the highest catwalk and at the lowest position. At all the other positions you have to stop the elevator by yourself using the "stop" button.

  • Weather Check: For each launch the coaster control will check the weather and will put the launch into a waiting state if the weather is too bad. If this happens you will be informed in the console. At the control panel and next to the "forced-rollback"-panel a red light with the name "bad weather" will light up too. If you want to change the trigger level for the bad-weather stop open the file "Queenda Ka/CoasterControl/CoasterControl.nlvm" and change the values at line 42 to 45 as you like.

  • Capacity Calculator: Each time a train leaves the loading station the current and total capacity is printed to the console. The current capacity is calculated using the dispatch-time between the current train and the train before. The total capacity is the average capacity since start of the simulation (ignoring the very first train).

  • Surveillance Cameras Videos: The videos at the control panel shown the surveillance cameras. They are of course just recorded videos playing in a loop. So they will go out of sync over time or when an rollback occures.

  • Emergency Stop: The emergency stop works in very situation and the control is able to recover the coaster after the emergency stop is deactivated again.

  • Reset: I tried to include the coaster reset in all of my scripts. So if you press the "Reset" button at the coaster control-panel it should work properly all the time. But there could maybe still some bugs be around making something go crazy. So if you use the "Reset" button and something goes wrong afterwards you have to re-load the park.

I watched the video of this coaster on YouTube, and this is one of the greatest creations I've ever seen. An engineer and an artist all in one.
