Laser - Dorney Contest by Cazh

Technology: a vast, ever-changing field at the crossroads of industry and research. In order to achieve the modern cutting edge, sometimes the old must be retooled, redesigned, and rebuilt. Prototypes are not meant to last, but when do you know that you have achieved perfection?

Our researchers at Technological Heights Research Instiution of Lehigh- THRIL, for short- are proud to unveil the latest iteration of our previous cutting edge development, Laser.

From double-looping to double-launching, we believe this redesigned experience will bring the adrenaline pumping thrills from the prior model to the present day.

The Laser is primed and ready- are you?

Laser is a project that I am completed for the Dinosaurs Alive Replacement Contest hosted over in the Discord by Lee and Keltan. This ride is a Chance GTX multi-launch, designed as my dream coaster for the park.

Spending the second half of my life with Dorney as one of my homeparks, I've grown very attached to the park, although I've also known that it's sorely lacking several "essential" coaster types. When this contest was announced, I had several ideas immediately for things that I'd love to see there, but the idea that felt like both the most realistic and the most exciting was a double launched Chance GTX themed around the park's former Schwarzkopf double looper, Laser.

My main goal was to make something that would both pay homage to a defunct classic, while also being a major new thrill coaster that would appeal to both locals and enthusiasts. I decided on a Chance GTX because it's an inexpensive ride and manufacturer, while also being capable of the fast-paced and high intensity that I think the park is in need of.

I'm very satisfied with what I was able to create, and am honored to have gotten such a warm response from the judges.
