Thriller - Oscar Bruch (Recreation)

Park Image

Manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf and BHS, designed by Werner Stengel, and operated by Oscar Bruch, Thriller made its debut on the 17th of May, 1986. Thriller was the last coaster to be manufactured by Schwarzkopf. As the penultimate piece of the German showmen's coaster wars, it took Dreier Looping's two world records as the largest traveling coaster ever made and the most inversions on a traveling coaster at that point in time. Thriller quickly earned a reputation for offering an extremely intense ride experience due in part to its first 2 concentric perfectly circular loops subjecting riders to 6.5gs of force. Due to the rides unusual and oddly primative design, neck and back injuries were commonly reported among riders early in the ride's life. The ride underwent several modifications to enhance rider safety and comfort such as the reprofiling of the entry and exit of the first 2 loops and retrofitting the ride's original lap bar trains with accordion style shoulder retraints. This recreation in particular aimed to capture Thriller as it was right before it left the fair circuit.

I am an absolute fan! Thriller is probably the strangest looper that the German manufacturer has been able to produce. This recreation is perfect in every way! The somewhat hazardous transitions are very successful, despite this it remains fluid. There was also a big effort on the supports and decorations and frankly I love it! (some people don't like it...) Once again this creation shows your talent for the Schwarzkopf. I really love it!

This is an amazing recreation of Thriller. Really love and appreciate all the small details put into it. Shame it isn't around today cause it'd be great to experience to ride.

You've done it again. Basically a carbon copy of the real thing. I'm going to make my request again since Schwartz's seem to be your thing: I'd crap my pants if you made a Revolution recreation, that is all 🤣

Truly the greatest Schwarzkopf recreation out there. Bravo! I especially liked how the first two loops had the awkward angles which is just like it did in real life. It has all the quirks that made this ride so unique. The scenery is fantastic as well. Great job! Such a shame to see the low reviews on here. Definitely not deserved.

Great recreation. It really captures the jank that makes Schwarzkopfs unique. I don't get many opportunities to ride coasters like this, and this one in particular seems super fun (minus the back injuries, of course).

Old timers LOVE like myself LOVE mobile Schwarzies (although most of the time the only places I got to experience them were at mostly amusement piers such as "Jumbo Jet" @ Morey's Pier and a small handful of permanent park installations such as "The Whizzer" @ SFGAm and the old, departed "Laser" @ Dorney Park... Everything's here, right down to the portable grated 6 foot turnstiles, and even the trailers to carry everything in... So nice, I rode it twice... I also rode the Pendulum Looper (Hammer) and the Condor (Sky Circler) as well... Great job here!

I like these compact coasters and this is a good one. Fun to ride, colorful, and looks great at night with the chasing lights on the station and lift hill, the custom name sign that is also lit and headlights on the coasters. The out buildings reflecting on the lake looks cool. and it's a complete little park with some flat rides and snack shops. Yup, this is a good little coaster,
